Withdrawal Policy
The Makran Journal of Educational Research (MJER) is dedicated to maintaining the integrity of the scholarly publishing process. The withdrawal policy outlines the conditions and procedures for withdrawing a manuscript after submission or publication, ensuring transparency and adherence to ethical standards.
Withdrawal of Manuscripts Before Peer Review
Authors may request the withdrawal of their manuscript before the peer review process begins. Such requests must be submitted in writing to the editorial office, providing valid reasons for the withdrawal. Once the editorial team acknowledges the request, the manuscript will be withdrawn from consideration without further obligations.
Withdrawal of Manuscripts During or After Peer Review
If authors wish to withdraw their manuscript during or after the peer review process, a formal written request with a clear justification must be submitted to the editorial office. Withdrawal at this stage is discouraged unless there are valid and unavoidable reasons, such as ethical concerns or errors in the submission. The editorial team reserves the right to approve or deny the request based on the circumstances.
Withdrawal of Published Articles
In exceptional cases, an article may need to be withdrawn after publication. Such cases include:
- Evidence of plagiarism or research misconduct.
- Errors that significantly undermine the validity of the research findings.
- Breach of ethical guidelines, such as duplicate publication or unauthorized submission.
Withdrawal of a published article is a serious action and requires the approval of the editorial board. If an article is withdrawn, the journal will issue a withdrawal notice explaining the reason for the action. The withdrawn article will remain in the journal’s archives but will be clearly marked as "Withdrawn" with the associated notice.
Consequences of Unethical Withdrawal
Unethical withdrawal, such as withdrawing a manuscript after acceptance to submit it to another journal, is strongly discouraged. MJER reserves the right to blacklist authors who engage in such practices, preventing them from submitting to the journal in the future.
Procedure for Withdrawal Requests
- The corresponding author must submit a formal withdrawal request, providing the manuscript ID, title, and a detailed explanation for the withdrawal.
- The editorial team will review the request and respond within a reasonable timeframe.
- If the withdrawal is approved, the authors will be notified, and the manuscript will be removed from the journal’s workflow.
Fees Associated with Withdrawal
MJER may charge a withdrawal fee if the withdrawal request is made after the manuscript has entered the peer review process or if significant editorial work has already been completed. Details of such fees will be communicated on a case-by-case basis.
This withdrawal policy ensures the integrity of the publication process and protects the interests of authors, reviewers, and the journal. Authors are encouraged to carefully consider their decision to withdraw a manuscript and to communicate promptly and transparently with the editorial office.
